My Journey into Photography


My journey into professional photography began later in life at the age of 43. I decided to return to college, where I studied both technical photography and fine arts. This unique combination helped me develop a distinctive style that blends technical precision with artistic vision. Through years of dedication and continuous learning, I've refined my craft to capture the authentic essence of every client's special moments.

Today, my mission is to help families, couples, and businesses preserve their most meaningful memories through timeless, elegant photography. Every session is an opportunity to create lasting connections and tell unique stories through my lens.

Throughout my career, I've developed a reputation for creating a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere during photo sessions while maintaining the highest professional standards. My work has been recognized by various industry organizations, and I regularly attend workshops and conferences to stay current with the latest photography techniques and technologies.

My formal education in photography began at F.I.R.S.T. Institute's Digital Photography program, where I received comprehensive training in both technical and creative aspects of digital photography. The program provided hands-on experience with professional equipment and software, covering essential topics such as composition, lighting techniques, and post-production workflows.

Placing 7th among such talented peers was a humbling experience that validated my artistic approach and technical expertise. My commitment to the photography community extends beyond my professional work. In 2024, I served as a Board Director for the Tampa Area Professional Photographers Association (TAPPA), where I helped shape educational programs and networking opportunities for local photographers. During this time, I also was on the Print of the Month Committee for 2024-2025, fostering artistic growth and excellence among our members through monthly print competitions and critiques. In 2025, I stepped into the role of Treasurer, taking on increased responsibility in managing the organization's financial health and contributing to its continued growth. These volunteer positions have not only allowed me to give back to the photography community but have also enriched my own professional development through collaboration with talented peers. I truly love our group of local photographers.
